The Old Icehouse Mercantile

Owners Rob and Christy Preston have transformed Hessel’s historic 1895 icehouse into a unique mercantile that showcases local artists, makers, and small businesses from across Michigan and the Eastern Upper Peninsula.

‍ ‍Inside, you’ll find an eclectic mix of local treasures, including Sweet Seden by Christine Preston, Spirit Bear Photography, artwork by Lorna Bricco and Sarah Tule, Moogie Bags, local meats and fish, honey, maple syrup, locally roasted coffee, nautical charts and maps, custom frames, and more. 

Electric bike rentals will also be available during the summer!
